Privacy Policy

How NigelFPV collects, uses and stores information when you visit nigelfpv.com, get in touch, ask for a quote, or book a shoot.

Draft — not in force. This is a working draft. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer, it does not yet carry an effective date, and it is not in force as a published policy. It is here so the terms can be read and corrected. Anything actually agreed for a specific booking is whatever is confirmed in writing at the time.

Who is responsible for your information

NigelFPV is a sole-operator FPV drone videography business based in Goa, India, and is the party responsible for deciding how information described here is used. Questions, requests and complaints about privacy all go to the same contact below — there is no separate department.

NigelFPV, Goa, India. Email nigelfpv@gmail.com. Website nigelfpv.com.

What is collected

There is no contact form, no account system and no payment processing on this website. Nothing is collected from you by the site itself except the technical and analytics information described below. Everything else reaches NigelFPV because you chose to send it.

When you get in touch or book a shoot, that typically includes:

  • Your name, business or property name, and the contact details you message from — usually a WhatsApp number or an email address
  • Details needed to quote and plan the work: the location, the property or venue, preferred dates, what you want filmed, and budget
  • The content of your messages and emails
  • Any files, images, plans or references you choose to send
  • Payment and invoice records, handled by bank transfer or a payment provider rather than through this website — card and banking credentials are never entered on nigelfpv.com

When you browse the site, Google Analytics records technical information automatically: approximate location derived from IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, how you arrived, and interactions such as pressing a WhatsApp button. This is used to understand which pages are worth keeping.

Why it is used, and on what legal basis

Information is used to answer enquiries, quote, schedule and deliver shoots, invoice and reconcile payment, keep business and tax records, and to operate and improve the website.

Where the UK or EU General Data Protection Regulation applies to you, the lawful bases relied on are:

  • Performance of a contract — quoting, planning, delivering and invoicing a booking you asked for
  • Legitimate interests — running and securing the business, keeping records of enquiries, and understanding site traffic, balanced against your rights
  • Consent — where you have asked to receive something, which you can withdraw at any time
  • Legal obligation — accounting, tax and records the law requires be kept

Cookies, analytics and embedded video

This site uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies in your browser. It is the only analytics tool in use. There are no advertising pixels and no remarketing trackers.

Being straightforward about the current state: analytics loads when a page loads, and there is not yet a consent banner offering to turn it off first. If you would rather not be measured, block cookies for this site in your browser, or use a browser setting or extension that blocks Google Analytics — both work, and nothing on the site depends on analytics running.

Service and blog pages embed videos from YouTube using its privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie domain, which avoids setting YouTube's tracking cookies unless you actually play a video. Pressing play loads YouTube's player, and from that point Google's own terms apply to the playback.

Who else sees it

Personal information is not sold, and it is not traded, rented or shared for anyone else's advertising.

It is handled by the services needed to run the business — website hosting, email, Google Analytics, cloud storage for footage delivery, messaging platforms such as WhatsApp, payment and banking, and an accountant. It may also be disclosed where the law, a court or a regulator requires it, or where it is genuinely necessary to protect someone's safety or to establish or defend a legal claim.

If you get in touch through WhatsApp, Instagram, YouTube or another platform, that conversation also sits on that platform and is governed by its own privacy terms, which NigelFPV does not control.

Filming, footage and people who appear in it

A shoot can capture identifiable people, interiors, signage, documents and personal belongings. Tell NigelFPV before filming starts about anyone who must not appear, and about rooms, documents or areas that must not be recorded.

Where you engage NigelFPV to film a property, event, course or business location, you are responsible for the permissions and consents that are yours to obtain — including from guests, staff, students or residents who may be filmed.

Footage may be kept and used for portfolio and promotional purposes as set out in the Terms of Service, unless a written no-promotional-use restriction was agreed at the time of booking.

How long it is kept

Enquiries that do not become bookings are kept while they might still turn into work, then cleared. Booking records, invoices and anything needed for accounting and tax are kept for as long as Indian tax and company record rules require.

Project footage is kept indefinitely for portfolio, archive and business-continuity purposes unless a different written arrangement applies. Delivered files are not guaranteed to be stored permanently — download and back up what you are sent.

Your rights

You can ask what information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, ask for a copy in a portable form, object to it being used, or ask that its use be restricted while a question is resolved. Where use is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time.

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, requests and grievances go to the contact below, which is also the grievance contact for this business. If you are in the UK or EU and you are not satisfied with the response, you may complain to your national data protection supervisory authority.

Some information has to be kept anyway — where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim. If that applies to your request, you will be told which part and why.

Information leaving India

Some of the services used — analytics, email, cloud storage and messaging — store information on servers outside India. If you contact NigelFPV from outside India, your information will be handled in India.

Changes

This policy will change as the site and the business change. While it remains a draft it carries no effective date. Once it is finalised, the current version and its effective date will be published here.
